Current Opportunity:

Design Assistant
(contract, project-based)

We're looking for a creative, detail-oriented Design Assistant to support our growing residential design studio. This remote, freelance/contract role is ideal for an experienced design professional seeking flexible, project-based work while contributing to thoughtful residential renovation projects. You’ll work closely with URR Design across a variety of design and studio support tasks, including AutoCAD drafting, presentations, product sourcing, client materials, and project organization

  • Assist in creating graphics for social media, emails, client presentations and summaries.

  • Support layout design in AutoCAD and concept presentations using Google Presentations or Canva.

  • Source products and organize visual inspiration and mood boards.

  • Help with packaging, product mockups, and print materials.

  • Ensure all deliverables align with our brand aesthetic.

  • Prepare project binders and presentation materials.

  • Assist with virtual and occasional in-person client/project meetings, including note-taking and follow-up.

  • Product and sample pick-up and return.

What You’ll Do

  • Post-secondary education in interior design or a related field.

  • 3+ years of professional experience in interior design or a related residential design field.

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

  • Open to feedback and eager to learn.

  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

  • Local to Cochrane / Calgary is an asset.

  • Access to a reliable computer, internet connection and equipment required to perform the role remotely, including AutoCAD software.

  • Experience creating 3D renderings and visualizations is considered an asset.

What We’re Looking For

  • Project-based contract work; workload varies based on active client projects and studio needs.

  • Primarily remote + local in-person work, including but not limited to assisting with in-home consultations, site measures, styling days, client meetings, and product/sample pick-ups and returns, etc.

  • Compensation: $25–$30 / hour, depending on experience.

  • Opportunity to take on increased responsibility and grow with the studio as the business expands.
